This project marked my first hands-on experience in the Georgia Tech MID program.
The primary objective was to explore spatial relationships in 3D design by creating various foam shape combinations. Through this exercise, I developed a deeper understanding of dominant, subdominant, and subordinate elements, as well as the fundamentals of prototyping with foam core materials. I also learned the importance of achieving visual balance, creating cohesive visual structures, and introducing tension to enhance product designs.
Building on these concepts, we further applied our knowledge by constructing a foam core mock-up of a printer and producing detailed dimension documents for the product. This phase of the project reinforced my understanding of spatial design and the technical aspects of product documentation.
